British Prime Minister David Cameron said in Canberra that the decision whether to lift sanctions or not will depend on the position of Russia in the Ukrainian crisis, TASS reports.
The UK and Poland insist on harsh pressure on Moscow. Hungary, Slovakia, Greece and Cyprus want the EU to limit its actions to only using a blacklist of personae banned from its territory. Belgium, Ireland, Denmark and Austria are in between the two approaches.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Tuesday that the EU was not planning to impose new economic sanctions on Russia but was considering expansion of the blacklist.
