The Armenian parliament has passed amendments to the law on the structure of parliament in the second reading today. After the president’s signature, the law will merge the Ministry for Emergencies and the Ministry for Territorial Administration into an organ for economic integration and reforms, ArmenianReport reports.70 members of parliament voted for the amendments, 6 voted against, 31 abstained. Justice Minister Ovannes Manukyan said earlier that reorganizing the government should boost its efficiency. He added that functions of the new ministry will be set next Monday.
