The EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels has announced accomplishment of the first stage of liberalizing the visa regime with Georgia and readiness for the second stage, RIA Novosti reports.
The Council agreed with the European Commission that Georgia fulfilled all the criteria of the first stge. Georgia and the EU plan to lift visas at a summit of the Eastern Partnership in Riga in May 2015, as declared by ex-State Minister for European Integration Alex Petriashvili.
