Ukrainian activists want Euromaidan to become supreme authority

Euromaidan activists plan to mark the anniversary of the protests on November 21 and gather to pass a declaration proclaiming them the supreme authority in the country. According to the declaration, the country will enter a two-year transitional period, form a National Salvation Government represented by activists of the Maidan on the one side and the president, prime minister, the Cabinet and the parliament on the other, RIA Novosti reports.

Vasiliy Lubartsa, an activist, said that participants of the meeting will use all means available for protection, should the declaration be rejected. Activists plan to pitch tents for at least a week, according to Andrey Homa, a member of the Maidan coordinating council. Activists expect to see about 100,000 people at the meeting. The police expressed readiness for any developments.
