Aderholt reminded Obama of the Azerbaijani strategic position in the region, its support of anti-terrorist operations in Afghanistan and participation in ensuring the energy security of Europe and Israel, emphasizing the importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Southern Gas Corridor. At the same time, Los Angeles Times published an article by a famous journalist Reynaldo Mena about the Fourth Baku International Humanitarian Forum which took place from October 2-3. In the article Mena called Azerbaijan an exemplary economy. The Deputy Director General of the MSU Information Analytical Center and an expert of Vestnik Kavkaza, Andrei Petrov, Washington is using the tactic of a reverse maneuver towards Baku. Petrov said that articles in the media indicate that the U.S. is trying to neutralize his earlier harsh statements towards Baku and that relations between the U.S. and Azerbaijan will strengthen in the future.
