Mamedov called the world’s reaction to military drills in Russia disproportionate in light of the occupation of the Nagorno-Karabakh territories.

He reminded that Russia had organized drills 150km from the Ukrainian border. The West had expressed preoccupation with the process. Mamedov reminds that no such worries had been seen around the Armenian drills on occupied territories.

Mamedov emphasized that Azerbaijan’s ban on any flights over its occupied districts imposed 20 years ago had been neglected. In his words, Nagorno-Karabakh and 7 adjacent districts were occupied, the rights of hundreds of thousands of people have been violated.

Moreover, the official added that the West had put its own interests as a priority after the collapse of the bipolar world system.
