Russian policy in the South Caucasus is impossible without Azerbaijan, an expert of the Russian Council on International Affairs, associate professor of post-Soviet countries studies of the RSUH Alexander Gushchin believes. The expert emphasized that Russia’s relations with Azerbaijan have been through various periods, but both countries are very interested in economic cooperation with each other. Alexander Gushchin expressed the opinion that Azerbaijan will actively cooperate with the Eurasian Union and could even formalize this partnership in one form or another.From Alexander Gushchin’s point of view, Armenia will continue to adhere to its multi-vectoral policy, oriented towards both Russia and the EU. The expert also said that many Armenian politicians do not realize how important the partnership between Moscow and Baku is.
