The Georgian Prosecutor General’s Office accuses ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili of falsifying the murder case of Sandro Girgvliani in 2006. According to prosecutors, the ex-president used his authority to falsify the case in cahoots with ex-Minister of the Interior Vano Merabishvili, ex-Head of the Constitutional Security Department Data Akhalaya and some other functionaries. The court announced three years of jail for Merabishvili in October, Interfax reports.
