Georgian parliament passes controversial wiretapping bill, despite president's veto

The Georgian parliament has passed a controversial wiretapping bill, despite the president's veto, Georgian media report.

 

81 lawmakers voted in favour of the document, which means that it will come into effect despite the president's veto. 13 lawmakers voted against the bill. The opposition United National Movement party and the Free Democratic party abstained from voting.
