Georgian president signs wiretapping bill into law

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili has signed the controversial wiretapping bill into law. The bill has recently been adopted by the parliament, despite the president's veto. 81 lawmakers voted in favour, which is enough to pass the law without the president's consent.

The president eventually signed the bill "for the sake of the state" in order to prevent a political crisis.
