The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev have exchanged their views on the Afghan settlement.
The meeting took place in Ashkhabad. They noted that the settlement of the problem should be peaceful and political.
“We want to see Afghanistan peaceful and prospering, a good neighbor and partner for all countries of the region,” Trend cites Berdymukhamedov.
In this context the need for effective political and diplomatic mechanisms involving major international organizations, primarily the UN and its special institutions, was pointed out.
