Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Aide Yuri Ushakov called the Russian leader’s meeting with French President Francois Hollande on December 6 fruitful and noted that the two presidents had elements of mutual understanding, Interfax reports.
In his words, the sides had intensive discussions of the situation in Ukraine, Syria and the Iranian nuclear program. They did not discuss the four-sided meeting ofthe Russian, Ukrainian, French and German leaders.
Ushakov confirmed Putin’s words about preliminary agreements for a meeting, which he made at the G20 summit in Australia. Kazakhstan took part in organizing the meeting. Hollande arrived in Paris from Kazakhstan, then arrived in Moscow.
