Russian President Vladimir Putin and Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann have discussed the South Stream project in a telephone conversation, TASS reports.Putin said in Ankara on December 1 that realization of the South Stream project was stopped. Gazprom Head Alexey Miller said that the project was no longer actual.Russia plans to build a pipeline system to expand the Blue Stream, creating a gas hub in Turkey. Another hub may be created on the Greek border for consumers in Southern Europe.The South Stream project worth €5.5 billion was supposed to have a capacity of 67 billion cubic meters of gas a year. The Blue Stream has a capacity of 16 billion cubic meters a year, delivering Russian gas to Turkey under the Black Sea.
