Turkey will continue to develop relations with Russia and the EU

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Yalcin Akdogan said that Ankara is building its foreign policy independently, developing relations with both Russia and the EU.

"There is no state that could put pressure on Turkey. Our relations with the EU are developing on a voluntary basis and are built on mutual interests. But the EU is not our only priority. Turkey's foreign policy is multifaceted, and the EU is only one of its vectors. Turkey has close ties with the Turkic world and Russia," he said.

According to him, during the meeting with the head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini he did not feel any pressure on Turkey.

Yesterday Mogherini, who is on a visit to Turkey, said that the EU is not aimed at confrontation but at cooperation with Russia, which is why it does not intend to prevent the development of Russian-Turkish relations.
