Azerbaijan is commemorating the 11th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev's death today, on December 12. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev laid flowers at the leader's grave. The Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) held a scientific conference about Heydar Aliyev's teachings on national statehood. Heads of scientific centers, scientists and specialists attended the conference, AzerTAG reports.
Academician Isa Gabibbeyli, vice president of the ANAS, presented a report titled "Independent Azerbaijan: from Heydar Aliyev to Ilham Aliyev."
The Heydar Aliyev Center held an evening of classical music dedicated to Heydar Aliyev on December 11. Members of the government, cultural and public figures attended it. The Uzeyir Hajibeyov Azerbaijani State Symphonic Orchestra performed.
The Museum Center in Baku opened a photo exhibition "Heydar Aliyev in the lens of the Anadolu Agency and AzerTAG", organized on December 11 to demonstrate photographs of Heydar Aliyev. The exhibition was organized by the Anadolu Agency, AzerTAG and the Yunus Emre Institute of the Baku Center for Turkish Culture.
