Iran considers reopening British embassy in Tehran

Abbas Ali Mansour Arani, the head of the friendly parliamentary group of Iran and the UK, said that Iran was considering the reopening of the British embassy in Tehran, ISNA reports.

He reminded that the UK had 350,000 Iranian residents and their relatives needed to ask Turkey, the UAE and neighbouring states for Iranian visas.

The British embassy in Tehran was closed in 2011 following protests of students against sanctions imposed by the British Treasury against the Central Bank of Iran.
