Georgia is to join the open air space policy of the European Union,
Georgian Ambassador to the EU Salome Samadashvili said on September
28, Business Georgia reports.
In his interview with a TV channel in Brussels the ambassador said
that Georgia is the first country in the region to become a member of
the unified air space of EU.
Samadashvili said that the deal would be signed in the near future.
When the agreement comes into force, all price and weekly flight
limitations between Georgia and EU will be lifted. Georgia needs to
have its legislature meet the European standards and implement EU
norms in such spheres as security, reliability and ecology, protection
of consumer rights, management of air transport, economic regulation,
business competition and social aspects.
