A special motorized battalion of the interior forces of the Russian
police, organized in Makhachkala (Dagestan), will start operating in
November, Interfax reports.
The head of Russian interior forces Army General Nikolay Rogozhkin
said that the new formation will provide security in Makhachkala, or
the whole of Dagestan if necessary.
Rogozhkin said that the battalion will consist of Dagestani
conscripts. The social infrastructure and stable financing will be
formed in 2 or 2.5 years.
