Polish president's plane crashes near Smolensk.

The head of the information service of the Russian Emergencies
Ministry, Irina Andrianova, reported that 87 persons have been killed

from Warsaw to Smolensk crashed on approaching Smolensk' - she said,

Reuters cites Polish authorities, saying that the plane of Polish
president Lech Kaczynski crashed while approaching Smolensk airport.
Representative of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Piotr
Paszkowski told Polish media that the plane touched a tree on approach
and caught fire after touching the ground. The fate of the Polish
president and his wife, who were supposedly on board, is being
investigated.
