Russian President Vladimir Putin has urged Georgia to start a dialogue. He reminded that the story of the conflict had started in 1919, when Georgia had declared formation of an independent state while Abkhazia wanted to stay with Russia.In his words, Georgia should have continued political dialogue instead of keeping hostilities. Putin added that Russia made concessions for Georgia: liberalized shipments of products in exchange for Georgia’s approval of Russia’s membership in the WTO.
