Georgia says Russia impeded its efforts for dialogue with Abkhazia and South Ossetia

 

Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Paata Zakareishvili said that Georgia had always wanted to have dialogue with Abkhazia and South Ossetia while Russia had been impeding it. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said at his big press conference today that Georgia should make contacts with both breakaway republics, RIA Novosti reports.The state minister added proof to his words, reminding that Russian border guards had been laying barbed wire on the border between Georgia and Abkhazia, making it impossible for Georgians to cross the border.
