Joint efforts by the US and Saudi Arabia to maintain low oil prices are intended to harm the militant group Islamic State and Russia. This opinion was expressed today by the head of the largest universal trading company, Mitsui & Co. of Japan
"I have a feeling that Saudi Arabia and the United States are making progress in this (the issue of falling oil prices) under significant mutual discussions," Gazeta.ru quoted his words, referring to an issue of The Wall Street Journal.
In his view, the crisis in Russia will harm not only Europe, but could spread to the global economy.
An earlier edition of the Financial Times suggested that possible new US sanctions against Moscow threatened "disorder" in relations between Washington and the European Union.
