Russia will continue to help Syria, says Russian Foreign Ministry

The special envoy of the Russian President for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, has recently met with the abbess of the Monastery of St. James located in the Syrian city of Qara, Agnes Mariam Al-Saliba. The sides discussed the situation in Syria, with the focus on the humanitarian situation and the situation of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey.


"Russia will continue to provide the necessary support and assistance to the victims of the protracted conflict both through bilateral channels by sending relief supplies, and through the appropriate international humanitarian agencies: the International Committee of the Red Cross, the World Food Programme and other organizations," Bogdanov is quoted by TASS.
