Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev said at the award ceremony of athletes and sports specialists of 2014 that Baku was one of the safest cities in the world and expressed confidence that the 2015 European Games will be top-level, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
He noted that reforms realized throughout the recent years had strengthened the country, boosted its economy and political power. The European Games will demonstrate success of independent Azerbaijan and its openness to the world.
