Ukraine, with its problems, is not awaited in NATO and can only be used to fight Russia. This opinion was expressed today by the head of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs, Alexei Pushkov.
"NATO is not awaiting Ukraine. With its huge challenges, it is a burden and a danger, not a purchase. To use against Russia – yes. But no more," Pushkov is quoted by TASS, referring to his page on Twitter.
Today the Supreme Rada voted for rejection of the non-aligned status of the country. The law, the draft of which was proposed by President Peter Poroshenko, provides the "rejection of the status of a non-aligned state and a return to the policy of rapprochement with NATO."
In the State Duma deputies believe that the law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada is a challenge to the Russian Federation, in addition, it can also provide impetus to the development of the conflict in Donbas.
