A regular meeting of the Contact Group is expected to be held today in Minsk, aiming to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
The meeting was announced on Monday after a telephone conversation between the leaders of Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia.
Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin recently confirmed that the meeting is scheduled for December 24. "But we do not know yet if one meeting is enough for this matter," TASS quotes Klimkin.
The information about the upcoming meeting was confirmed by the Foreign Ministry of Belarus. "Technically, Minsk is ready for the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine," said a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, Dmitry Mironchik. According to the decision of the contact group, this meeting will be held behind closed doors.
