A member of the French Senate, Nathalie Goulet, said that Azerbaijan has strengthened its position on the international stage thanks to President Ilham Aliyev’s wise policy.
According to her, Azerbaijan is pursuing a successful foreign policy, despite the frozen Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and an uneasy neighbourhood with Russia and Iran. “Thanks to President Aliyev’s wise policy, Azerbaijan has become a trusted ally for Europe and NATO,” Goulet said.
Speaking about Azerbaijan’s commitment to democratic values, she stressed that Azerbaijan managed to maintain cultural respect and religious tolerance in a very difficult time.
In her view, Aliyev’s policy was the reason that Azerbaijan has made significant economic progress. She expressed her admiration for the fact that Azerbaijan has already achieved a lot for a country facing a war.
She also highlighted the important role of Azerbaijan's First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, in the country's success. "Azerbaijan owes the First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva for many of the country's achievements," she said.
