Russia adopts new Military Doctrine

Russia has adopted a new Military Doctrine today, complying with a decision of the Russian Security Council made on July 5, 2013. Amendments to the document were approved by the Council on December 19, 2014.


The new doctrine considers violation of historical, spiritual and patriotic traditions a military threat to the country. Provocation of social tensions aimed at changing the constitutional system by violence and violation of sovereignty were included in the category of internal military threats.
