The top 5 favourite politicians in Russia are Vladimir Putin, Sergey Shoygu, Sergey Lavrov, Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Zhirinovsky. Most Russians want Putin re-elected as the president after 2018.
According to WCIOM polls, 71% of Russians favour Putin, compared with 44% the previous year. His popularity is followed with that of Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, then Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Sergey Shoygu and Vladimir Zhirinovsky are among the most trusted politicians and public figures.
Maksim Shevchenko, a member of the Russian Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations, said that the country was not in the worst possible economic situation, the situation was covered by large economic players, Putin had many political strategists. The official noted that 85% was a very high rating, no leader had 100% rating, even 71% was a good rating.
