Austrian President Heinz Fischer said that EU’s possible further sanctions regardint Russia may be a "foolish and damaging" step.
"I believe it is a false and even damaging point of view that the sanctions can be toughened to the extent that Russia is weak and can be subjected to the desired political goals," the head of state stressed.
In his opinion, "the Russian economy has a certain reserve of durability." "Sanctions against it became a tangible problem for the country and remain being so," TASS quoted the Austrian president.
