According to a survey conducted by "Levada Center", Vladimir Putin has been named "Man of the Year" in Russia for the seventh time. The poll was on held December 19-22, its participants were 1,600 people in 134 settlements of 46 regions of the country.


In this category 57% gave their votes for the president, which is above last year's numbers: Putin was named "Man of the Year" by 26% of respondents.


Second place went to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu with 9%, third place went to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with 8%. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky received 4% and 3%, Interfax reports.


"Woman of the Year" was wondering by Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko with 7%. Alla Pugacheva gained 4%, Elizabeth Glinka - 3%, the head of the Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina and German Chancellor Angela Merkel - 2%.
