Ukraine grants Crimeans residential status

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that Crimeans had been given residential status. In his words, Crimeans working in Ukraine should have all the rights of a Ukrainian citizen, Russian citizens will be given a different approach, Interfax reports.


According to the Federal Migration Service of Russia, 97% of the 1.97 million residents in Crimea were Russian citizens. 3,500 keep their Ukrainian citizenship.
