Oliver Stone: US uses Ukraine as a base in fighting Russian Federation

The famous film director Oliver Stone, whose recent interview with the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych caused a massive wave of controversial comments, has tried to explain his position.

"For those of you angry with my analysis of Ukraine yesterday, please try to understand the bigger picture I'm offering. I have no brief for Viktor Yanukovych, he may well be the most corrupt president Ukraine's ever had. Ukraine has a dramatic history of corruption. That is not my point. How Yanukovych was removed is -and although many of the Ukrainian people wanted him out, there is ample evidence of pro-Western, third party interference, beginning with Victoria Nuland, John McCain, USAID, the National Endowment for Democracy. Why, for instance, are so many policemen dead and wounded, and yet no one has investigated this in the new government?" he wrote on his Facebook page.

Stone once again pointed out that there is evidence of the influence on events of pro-Western foreign forces. He mentioned US Under-Secretary Victoria Nuland, Senator John McCain, USAID and the National Endowment for Democracy.

Finally, he noted that the United States has never ceased using Ukraine as a springboard to fight first the Soviet Union and now Russia.

"Whether they know it or not, the Ukrainian civilian population in the middle has suffered greatly from this ideological crusade," Stone wrote on Twitter.
