The EU has praised Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for perdoning 87 convicts on December 29. Executives studying candidates for the amnesty considered their personal characteristics, health condition, civil condition, behaviour and followed humanitarian principles, Trend reports.
Nida members Uzeir Mamedli and Zaur Gurbanli, journalists Avaz Zeynalov and Sardar Aliyev and lawyer Gurban Mamedov were among the pardoned convicts.
