Iran denies political aspects to nuclear program

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said today that the Iranian delegation to the nuclear talks pursued no political or factional goals. In his words, Iran wanted to demonstrate its power and readiness for negotiations, TASS reports.

Zarif called the agreements reached in Geneva a new page in the foreign policy of the country, a challenge to the atmosphere of hostility.

One of the main results of the nuclear talks between Iran and the Group of Six (five permanent members of the UNSC and Germany), according to Zarif, is the return of frozen Iranian assets. He added that closing facilities in Fordow and Arak or a halt to uranium enrichment were no longer in dispute. The minister said that specialists were analizing the details of further negotiations.
