US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Monday that the upcoming meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is intended to lay the foundation for the advancement of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program.
"We hope to accelerate the negotiation process in order to achieve greater progress," Tass quoted him.
Negotiations between the head of US diplomacy with the foreign minister of Iran will place in Geneva on 14 January.
As Vestnik Kavkaza previously reported, Zarif had also stated that the Iranian delegation in Geneva will seek ways to accelerate negotiations on its nuclear program.
