Georgian President offers NATO use of Georgian territory for shipping
cargo to Afghanistan.

Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili proposed NATO use Georgian
territory for safe cargo shipping to Afghanistan, NewsGeorgia reports.

"In Georgia we have good logistics and a safe, secure route. This will
be a route on which any blocking would be impossible," Saakashvili
told a joint press briefing with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh
Rasmussen.

The Georgian president took the initiative after the journalists’
questions about an attack on an Alliance transport convoy on Friday in
southern Pakistan. According to foreign media, 27 tankers with fuel
for the multinational force in Afghanistan were destroyed as a result
of the attack.
