In 2015 in Turkmenistan a new revision of the constitution will be adopted.
"Prior to September it is necessary to prepare a new draft of the constitution and submit it for public discussion," said the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking to members of the Mejlis.
The results of the legislative activity in 2014 and the program of the near future with the challenges facing the country were discussed during the meeting.
Berdimuhamedov emphasized "the importance of improving the national legislation in accordance with international practices and democratic values of the Turkmen people, further strengthening of the legal and economic foundations of the independent Turkmen state," leads the message the press service of the President.
The commission on the improvement of the constitution was established in August 2014, reminds TASS. The president said that "the fundamental law should ensure the formation of a developed civil society", "serving as an effective interaction of the state and legal institutions - legislative, executive and judicial." Some of the priorities of the upcoming reform he identified as "streamlining of market relations, guaranteeing the protection of all forms of ownership, state support of entrepreneurship and private initiatives."
