Armenian president meets with NATO deputy assistant secretary general

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has met with NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs James Appathurai. The sides noted the positive development of bilateral relations, political dialogue and partnership in all sectors, News Armenia reports.

Appathurai thanked Armenia for participating in the NATO peace missions in Kosovo and Afghanistan. He emphasized that the participation of Armenia in missions under the auspices of the NATO and the UN, as well as expansion of the peacekeeping brigade proves the readiness of Iran to enforce international peace and stability.

The sides noted the importance of realizing the IPAP in 2014-2016 in the context of further cooperation. They discussed regional problems, the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and international challenges.
