Russia's permanent representative to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov, said that the political dialogue between Russia and the European Union has not stopped.
"Let me draw your attention to the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgar Rinkevichsa to Moscow on Monday and his talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov. Taking into account the fact that Latvia currently presides at the Council of the EU, this visit was mainly of Russian-EU content," TASS quotes him.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, according to his words, met with the ambassadors of 28 EU countries. "They also discussed the practical topics of relations between Russia and the EU," said Chizhov.
Replying to a question from the media about proposals announced on relations with Russia, which the head of EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini is preparing for the meeting of the Ministerial Council of the European Union for Foreign Affairs on January 19, Chizhov said that he would not comment on leaks to the press.
