A solution to the problem of the Iranian atom will not improve relations between the US and Iran, because there are a lot of unresolved issues. The main issue among them is the return to their homeland of those Americans, who are held in Iran. This statement was made yesterday by White House spokesman Josh Ernest.
"Even if we solve the Iranian nuclear issue, there are still many questions to the Iranian government that remain... Even if we reach an agreement [on its nuclear program - VK], the relations between the US and Iran are far from normal," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Regarding US citizens arrested in Iran, Ernest said: "We have repeatedly emphasized that these two issues should be addressed separately. We are confident that these Americans should be released, we believe that Iran must take the necessary steps to remove the concerns of the international community over its nuclear program. These are two of our priorities that we raise with the Iranians separate from each other."
