The meeting of the Council of the European Union scheduled for January 19 will not make any changes in the issue of sanctions against Russia. This was said by a senior EU official, who preferred not to be named.
"The document, which will be offered for discussion by Ministers, is based on a combination of sanctions and maintaining of contacts between the EU and Russia," Interfax quoted the source.
This document will contain the expansion of strategic thinking about cooperation with Russia, the official added.
This document does not contain any steps to repeal the anti-Russian sanctions. It can be discussed no earlier than in March or June.
