The law forbidding suspected Islamists to leave the country has come into force in France. The law allows the police to confiscate passports and IDs of citizens suspected of planning to join militants in Syria or Iraq. French authorities may halt temporary residence for suspects, Interfax reports.The French parliament passed the anti-terrorism bill in late November 2014.
