US Senator from the Democratic Party, Robert Menendez, has announced his intention to achieve the adoption of a bill by Congress to impose new sanctions against Iran, despite the fact that the White House is against it.
"I offer only to impose sanctions in the future and do not enter them until July," RIA Novosti cited him.
The senator proposed a bill providing for an automatic imposition of new sanctions against Iran if an agreement on Iran's nuclear program is not fully concluded before 30 June 2015.
As "Vestnik Kavkaza" reported, yesterday US President Barack Obama promised to veto the law if it is adopted.
