Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has called the decision to scrap the South Stream pipeline project a purely legal decision without any political or emotional background. Medvedev said at a meeting with Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak and Gazprom Head Alexey Miller that Russia’s attempts to start work on the project had no avail, TASS reports.The prime minister concluded that it was a good project. “We were actually working very hard on it,” he said.
