A Swiss Embassy delegation headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Russia, Pierre Helg, met in Grozmy with the Commissioner for Human Rights in Chechnya, Nurdi Nukhazhiev.
"The parties discussed the situation with observance of human rights in the Chechen Republic. The ambassador was also interested in the process of a human rights system developing in the Chechen Republic and the main problems of citizens, they turn to human rights defenders," Yuga.ru cited the press service.
Now, according to Nurdi Nukhazhiev, activities for the protection of human rights in Chechnya do not meet any obstacles. However, some questions are still waiting for a final decision. Among them, Nukhazhiev mentioned the issue of establishing a republic laboratory for identification of exhumed remains, the problem of discrimination of serving in other regions of the Russia residents of Chechnya.
"The Swiss Ambassador thanked Nurdi Nukhazhiev for the interesting conversation, noting that the meeting for him was fruitful, and he was able to obtain detailed information about the life of the Chechen Republic.
Pierre Helg expressed a desire for further cooperation with the Commissioner in the promotion of human rights," the press service said.
