Zarif: air strikes on Syria are an insane measure by Israel

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has censured Israel’s “insane measure” to assassinate an Iranian military commander along with a number of Hezbollah members through a helicopter attack in Syria’s occupied Golan Heights.

Zarif extended his condolences over the deaths, denouncing “the selective treatment of terrorism and extremism”, along with “silence towards crimes against humanity and insulting religious sanctities," Iranian channel Press TV reports.

Israel has not officially commented on reports of its involvement in an airstrike in the Syrian Golan Heights.

According to foreign media reports, Iranian security forces were attacked, including General of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Mohammed Allahdadi and activists of the Lebanese movement "Hezbollah", including its military wing's leader's son, Jihad Mughni, RIA Novosti reminds.
