Russian President Vladimir Putin and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde had a telephone conversation to discuss issues of international assistance in overcoming the profound financial and economic crisis in Ukraine.
“Putin and Lagarde discussed issues of international cooperation in overcoming a severe financial and economic crisis in Ukraine and in this context possible steps of the International Monetary Fund over the Kiev leader’s request to adopt a new long-term loan programme,” - said TASS referring to the press service of the Kremlin.
