Iranian Foreign Minister assures Iran's readiness for agreement on INP

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said at the economic forum in Davos that an agreement on Tehran's nuclear program will soon be reached, but the US should avoid the temptation to retain the sanctions regime in case of an agreement.

"We have nothing to lose by reaching an agreement and I believe we can have an agreement soon," RIA Novosti cited Zarif.

"Regrettably, there are certain forces that do not wish to see the conclusion of an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program. They enjoy great influence in the world and in the US Congress," Zarif said, stressing that Iran's negotiating partners should forget about the temptation to reach an agreement and at the same time retain the sanctions regime against Iran. "This will never happen," the Iranian Foreign Minister stated.

"A sanctions bill by the U.S. Congress will kill the joint plan of action that we adopted last year in Geneva," Zarif warned, adding that if the US Congress adopted sanctions against Iran, his country’s parliament would retaliate.
