Azerbaijan has the highest economic growth

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended a conference on outcomes of the first year of implementation of the "State Program on socio-economic development of districts of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2014-2018".

"Azerbaijan has achieved all its success alone.. No one can talk to us the language of dictate. Some wish to do so, but cannot and will never be able to do that. We are not guilty before anybody, and govern our country with dignity," Interfax-Azerbaijan cited Aliyev.

The President noted that the economic power enables us to have our say on the political scene, to protect our national interests." "Pay attention to poverty-stricken, pitiable Armenia. National dignity has been trampled by the criminal junta, and the latest developments once again confirm this. Look at how helpless they are, that they cannot even push forward their just demands. This country has already proven that it cannot exist as an independent state. If Armenia does not give up its dirty policies, the Armenians will be one of them," he said.

Deputy Chairman of the State Statistics Committee Rauf Salimov delivered a speech yesterday to the teaching staff of the Azerbaijan State Economic University (ADIU).

Salimov particularly noted that for the last 10 years the country’s average economic growth amounted to 11.5% a year, and according to the IMF this is the highest level among the countries of the world. At that, the average growth of the non-oil sector for the same period is estimated in 10%, abc.az reports.

Salimov also pointed to a decline in the unemployment rate of 0.1% to 4.9% and to the poverty level of 0.3% to 5%. At that, the average wage has reached 443 manats, while the average pension is 173.4 manats.
